Start your Saturday with a short stack of fresh pancakes and a chance to chat with members of the Princeton Police Department. While enjoying breakfast, kids can also design their very own Yankee Doodle hat and complete our Yankee Doodle Activity Book!

$12 adults | $6 kids (payable on day of the event)

Includes: Fluffy pancakes served with coffee, tea, or juice.

No tickets required, but reservations are highly encouraged. 

After breakfast, bring your little ones to Palmer Square’s Story Time on the Green from 10:00am-10:30am.

Step back in time to the candlelit taverns of 1776 and the years before as public historian Brooke Barbier examines the surprising role that alcohol played in shaping the nation! In her latest book, Cocked and Boozy: An Intoxicated History of the American Revolution, Barbier uncovers how a good pour influenced politics, relationships and the colonial economy. Pairing great stories with great libations, each chapter concludes with an eighteenth-century cocktail recipe, so thirsty readers can sip along. Join us at the Nassau Inn for an evening of unexpected history, storytelling and spirited sips!

• Registered guests continue on just down the hall to the Prince William Ballroom for a lively, visually engaging discussion with Brooke. Enjoy book-inspired cocktails featuring Ironbound Cider and purchase copies of the book from Labyrinth Books. Discover artifacts, archaeological finds, and historic documents from the Historical Society of Princeton that offer a glimpse into tavern life in 18th-century Princeton and learn more about their newest exhibit, On the Road to Revolution at Dohm Alley (100 Nassau St).

About: Brooke Barbier received her PhD in American history from Boston College. In 2013, she founded Ye Olde Tavern Tours, a popular outing that takes guests into historic sites and taverns to learn about Boston’s revolutionary and drunken history. She is the author of Boston in the American Revolution: A Town Versus an Empire and the award-winning King Hancock: The Radical Influence of a Moderate Founding Father. Her next book, Cocked and Boozy: An Intoxicating History of the American Revolution, examines the influence of alcohol on the creation of the United States.
